My first design of 2022 has the small ones in mind!
This cute, little cardigan with its circular yoke with a small buds-pattern is just perfect for the spring ahead:)

Design and construction
The cardigan has a circular yoke in stitch-pattern. The cuffs and hem are embellished with a broderie Anglais stitch-pattern.
The cardigan is worked top-down and seamlessly.
The button-bands are integrated in the knitting.

Sizes
Sizes 1/2/3/4: Chest circumference, when buttoned:
0 - 1 months: 42 cm/16.5” 6 months: 48 cm/19”
1 year: 51.5 cm/20.25”
2 - 3 years: 58 cm/23”

Materials

Yarn: I used the fingering weight yarn “Bluem Sock” in the colour-way “Puddle”, from Susan Crawford to work the cardigan. I recommend that you use a fingering weight yarn that works up to gauge for your cardigan.
Of this specific yarn you will need approximately 300/400/500/625 m = 330/440/550/685 yards. Needles: a circular needle 2.5 mm/US1.5 to work the upper and lower body. A set of DPNS 2.5 mm/US1.5 (or a circular needle if working the magic loop) to work the sleeves. Notions: two removable stitch-markers, buttons 11 mm/0.4” across, a cable needle, blocking tools.

Gauge
28 sts and 38-40 rows in stockinette sts = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”.

The pattern
The lace-pattern of the circular yoke is charted (not written out).
The pattern of the cuffs and hem is written out row-by-row.
There is a schematic.
All measurements are given in cm’s as well as in inches.
