This pattern is designed with two sizes and works up faster than you can hike a mountain. It goes along with my Colorado Climbing hat.

This pattern is perfect for any yarn from solids to speckles to varigated yarns. They all work for this mesh cowl.

This cowl is worked in the round from the bottom up. It uses k2tog and ssk to create leaning lines in the lace mesh. The lace sections shorten each time to represent climbing higher and higher up along switchbacks on the trail.

I was able to get both sizes out of two skeins of yarn. I was able to get a one skein version out of rounds 1-63 and then skipping to rounds 64-77, but all of my testers ended up needing to use a little bit of an extra skein. This cowl is very customizable and you can skip around sections as desired.

Needles: US7 (4.5mm) 16” circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge
