This elegant garment by Jennie Atkinson is knitted in two pieces with integral sleeves; the front and back are joined at the shoulder seams. It uses a lace stitch called the Scroll Pattern, an 18-row pattern which produces a textured appearance. Combined with the bands of colour, this gives the stripes a waved effect. It is worked in Blacker’s Samite yarn, a beautiful blend of Ahimsa silk with Bluefaced Leicester, Shetland and Gotland wool.
