1/29/15 - I have completely rewritten this pattern. There are now 6 sizes of comfy goodness, with a section to help you convert them to half-mitts if you choose. They are simple, unassuming, and very comfortable. Though they fit the hand snugly, they are also very stretchy, making them a very practical mitten.

3/2010 - I am very happy and surprised at how comfortable these mittens came out. The inspiration was a pair of half gloves I made to fit over a pair of leather gloves. They worked so well I adapted the pattern for mittens. I could not be more pleased.

They are very simple and unassuming, but they hug the hand and the thumb has full range of motion, making them a very practical mitten. The half-glove has a slightly larger thumb to fit comfortably over a leather glove.

I have had a number of people wanting to make these for gifts or for charity, so I have included a basic adult sizing guide.

Enjoy!
