There is a balancing act between designing a fast knit and a boring knit. This cowl knits up quickly in 2 skeins of the the delightfully smooshy and chunky Crater Lake and yet has a little bit of cabling to keep things interesting.

The large cable motif looks complicated, but it is simply a combination of slipped stitches and 1/1 cables. With instructions provided both written and with a cable chart for those to prefer charts, this cowl will be keeping you warm in no time.

If you would like to take a closer look at the cowl you can view a video tour of the pattern on my YouTube channel by clicking here!
