Daffodil Illusion Cushion
This pattern was free for the duration of the Woolsack project. It is no longer free.
The notes below are the original notes.
This Daffodil Illusion is one of four national emblem cushions I have designed for the Woolsack project which is part of the Cultural Olympiad for 2012. The others are:
The idea behind the project is to make a cushion for every competitor in the Olympics and Paralympics. All cushions are to be made in British wool and stuffed with British wool. All wool for stuffing has been donated to the project and there are several stuffing events taking place prior to the Olympics.
Cushions can be made by anyone, anywhere in the world, but the wool must be from British sheep. All the rules are explained on the Woolsack web site.
When you look straight at an illusion knit you see only stripes. The picture appears when you look from an angle.
September 2013 Update
The pattern now includes an extra chart intended for use by tablet users but others may find it helpful. You can view 20 ridges at a time and always be able to see the numbers across the bottom of the chart. Never lose your place again!
