While brushing up on my Deadpool comics for the upcoming movie (is anyone else as excited as I am?), I decided to knit some fanwear. These are based off the gloves Deadpool wears in Volume 2.

This is the first pattern I’ve written for public use, if you notice any glaring problems (I’m self-taught, so it’s possible), let me know so I can update it.

Sizing - 1 size fits most women, and some men. To adjust size you can change needles size, or add/delete stitches.

Needles - US 7 DPN

Yarn - For this, I used Red Heart yarn in 2 shades of red. The lighter red (color A) is for the body of the glove, the darker red (color B) is for the glove design to make an embossed appearance.

Directions:
I am left handed, so for me this is the right glove, if you’re right handed it’s probably for your left…

Cast on 32 stitches and join in the round.
Row 1-10: Knit 1, purl 1 rib.
Row 11: Continue in rib pattern. Create 6 new stitches in this row (I use the knit front and back) and space evenly. 38 stitches total.
Row 12-20: Knit
(this is where intarsia in the round starts, I use the yarn over method so I don’t have to strand Color B across the whole glove)
Row 21: Knit 10 stchs in Color A, Knit 15 stchs color B, Knit Color A to the end of the round
Row 22: (if using yarn over method) YO, purl 13 in Color A, Purl 1 Color B, Purl 13 Color A, Purl 1 Color B, Purl Color A until end of row, purl together the last stitch with the yarn over created at the first of the row (you will do this until the intarsia pattern ends).
Row 23: YO, K10 Color A, K1 Color B, K5 Color A, K3 Color B, K5 Color A, K1 Color B, K Color A to the end and knit last stitch w/ the yarn over.
Row 24: YO, P13 in Color A, P1 Color B, P4 Color A, P5 Color B, P4 Color A, P1 Color B, Purl Color A until end of row, purl together the last stitch with the yarn over created at the first of the row.
Row 25: YO, K10 Color A, K1 Color B, K3 Color A, K2 Color B, K1 Color A, K1 Color B, K1 Color A, K2 Color B, K3 Color A, K1 Color B, K Color A to the end and knit last stitch w/ the yarn over.
Row 26: YO, P13 in Color A, P1 Color B, P2 Color A, P2 Color B, P2 Color A, P1 Color B, P2 Color A, P2 Color B, P2 Color A, P1 Color B, Purl Color A until end of row, purl together the last stitch with the yarn over created at the first of the row.
Row 27 (thumbhole round): YO, K1 Color A, slip 5 to stitch holder and make 5 new stitches on needle, K5 Color A, K1 Color B, K1 Color A, K2 Color B, K3 Color A, K1 Color B, K3 Color A, K2 Color B, K1 Color A, K1 Color B, K Color A to the end and knit last stitch w/ the yarn over.
Row 28: YO, P13 in Color A, P1 Color B, P1 Color A, P2 Color B, P3 Color A, P1 Color B, P3 Color A, P2 Color B, P1 Color A, P1 Color B, Purl Color A until end of row, purl together the last stitch with the yarn over created at the first of the row.
Row 29: Repeat row 27 (without the thumbhole, just knit those)
Row 30: Repeat row 26
Row 31: Repeat row 25
Row 32: Repeat row 24
Row 33: Repeat row 23
Row 34: Repeat row 22
Row 35: Repeat row 21 (will start knitting all rounds again after this row)
Row 36 - 38: Knit Color A
Bind off

Thumb:
Slip 5 stitches from holder onto needle. Pick up 9 more stitches around hole
Knit 6 rounds or until desired length.
Bind off

Left glove (or right for you righties out there):

Knit same as other glove until row 21
Row 21: Knit 13 stchs in Color A, Knit 15 stchs color B, Knit Color A to the end of the round
Row 22: (if using yarn over method) YO, purl 10 in Color A, Purl 1 Color B, Purl 13 Color A, Purl 1 Color B, Purl Color A until end of row, purl together the last stitch with the yarn over created at the first of the row (you will do this until the intarsia pattern ends).
