I designed this blanket for my third child. My other son has a blanket that has little gaps in it and he looooooves sticking his fingers through the holes. I designed this blanket with deeply textured sections perfect for little fingers to grab onto and stick through. It uses bright colors (though of course you’re welcome to choose whatever colors you like) and the finished size is approximately 33″ by 44″. Because of the alternating textured and non-textured sections, this blanket gives an illusion of granny squares but is in fact worked in such a way as to require minimal weaving in of yarn ends!

You will need 2 skeins each of Caron Simply Soft in Blue Mint, Limelight, and Charcoal Heather (or similar yarn) a size I hook, and a yarn needle for weaving in ends. (you will have substantial leftovers of blue and gray yarn but will use most of the green)
