This lovely cowl was actually created as a joint effort at Knit Night by my friend Diane. She based it on the Gossamer Shawl pattern, and worked on it together with our group. We watched it evolve into a stunning piece.
I decided to write the pattern and gift it to you, so that you could have an excuse to try one of the best yarns in the world, the Beaded Pearl & Sequins (which is what Diane used), that turn this simple design into a true work of timeless art that you will be proud to wear.
The lovely thing about this silk is:

  1. It never ever pills (it is a chainette in construction)
  2. The beads and sequins as smooth and feel slightly metallic when you put them on, but quickly take on your body temperature so like a fine necklace, you forget you have this on
  3. The yarn is easy to knit with and actually incredible to knit with.

This is definitely a great beginner pattern, or suitable for watching TV as you knit.
