Here is a lovely crochet pattern for a warm double layered convertible cowl.
You can wear the cowl like a normal cowl, but you can also wear it as a hood. Also, the cowl has an optional band so that you can change the style and appearance of the cowl a bit. :)

The pattern difficulty is medium.
Needed skills to make this pattern:

  • chain stitches
  • slip stitches (UK: single crochet)
  • single crochet (UK: double crochet)
  • double crochet (UK: treble crochet)

The cowl has two layers woven through each other, you’re working with the two colours at the same time. These two layers make the cowl extra warm and suitable for the coldest winters! ^^

The pattern comes with a lot of high resolution photos, and a detailed description to guide you through it. It contains more than 10 very detailed pictures in full color. The pattern is written using USA and UK crochet terms, and there are no abbreviations used.

Needed materials to make this pattern:
--> You’ll need a 10mm crochet needle.
--> You’ll need about 200 meters or 220 yards of color A (Chunky/Bulky, 6 to 7mm thick yarn) to make this pattern.
--> You’ll need about 200 meters or 220 yards of color B (Roving, 4 to 5mm thick yarn) to make this pattern.
--> You can add a button to the band, if you want to, you’ll need a 1” button. How you can add the button to the band is described in the pattern.
