The Droplet Capelet is a unique, versatile, and stylish accessory. Shaped like a drop of water, it is rounded on one side and has a peak on the other.

Styling:
Wear your droplet with the peak in the front or back.
Wear it asymmetrically with the center line over one shoulder.
Bunch the round side of the capelet around your neck and wear it like a cowl/bandana.

Construction:
The Droplet is worked seamlessly in the round from the top down.
The beginner-friendly lace stitch can be easily memorized.

5 Instructional video links are provided at each step.

Sizes:
XS, SM, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL.
To select the correct size for your body, measure over your bust including your arms.

Designed to fit a body size of
44 (47, 49.5, 52.5, 55, 58, 60.5)” / 112 (119.5, 126, 133.5, 140, 147.5, 154) cm.
An additional 8” / 20.5 cm of positive ease is built into the pattern so that you can move your arms freely.

A schematic and lace chart are included.

Yarn:
Magpie Fibers Swanky Sock, 400 yards / 365.75 m - 115 g. 80% Superwash Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Nylon.
Tupelo Honey and Stagbunny Colorways were used for samples.
1 (2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2) skeins or 400 (424, 442, 464, 485, 506, 525) yards / 366 (387.5, 404, 424.5, 443.5, 463, 480) m of fingering weight yarn.

I used every bit of one skein for size XS. If you are making a size XS with a single skein, do not cut the yarn after swatching, as you may need to frog your swatch to use it for the finished garment.

Needles:
For cast on, bind off, and cape body: US 3 (3.25mm) circular needles on a 24” / 60 cm cable.
For ribbed collar: US 1 (2.25mm) circular needles on a 16” / 40 cm cable or size needed to achieve gauge. Make a swatch to find the correct needle size for your personal tension and yarn of choice. Of course, DPNs or 32” / 80 cm circular needles may be used for magic loop.

Gauge:
26 sts x 36 rows = 4” / 10 cm in stockinette stitch after blocking.

26 sts x 34 rows = 4” / 10 cm in lace stitch after blocking.

Notions:
1 stitch marker, scissors, a tapestry needle, knit blockers or blocking wires, a pen, and tape measure. Optional: waste yarn for inserting lifelines.
