I made this top hat for for my goat, Stinky Earl, but you can use it as a photo prop for baby/child photo shoots, for a snowman, for other pets, and of course if you have the need to feel extra dapper :)

This hat measures approximately 8 inches in diameter (including brim), and is 4 inches tall. However, the size can easily be altered to fit your needs.

I used 2 strands of yarn for the top hat and 1 strand of yarn for the band. I used about 5 oz of I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby on a 5mm hook. You can use any weight of yarn and hook size you like. The thinner the yarn, the smaller the hat. The smaller the hook, the smaller the hat.
