Travelling through Mexico, I was impressed with the colourful tile works and ornaments that decorated cathedrals, houses and fountains. My hands were itching to transform those lines and colours into something I could wear. That’s how El Gorro (Spanish for the Beanie) was born. I combined two typical Mexican colours in some simple slip-stitch patterns, that can easily be memorized and that don´t require stranded knitting.

The pattern includes both written and charted instructions. For this project you need to know how to knit on circular needles and dpns, and how to slip and decrease stitches. As the colour patterns are worked with slipped stitches, you won´t need to use more than one ball at the time.
