Der Poncho ist weich, hält kuschlig warm und ist dabei mit rund 230 g recht leicht. Er wird ganz ohne Nähte in Reihen gestrickt. Zopf- und Lochmuster sorgen für Abwechslung beim Stricken, verkürzte Reihen erzeugen mehr Weite im unteren Teil. Die seitlichen Ränder sowie der Abkettrand werden als I-Cord gestrickt.

Er wird zweifädig mit einem feinen Alpacagarn sowie einem dünnen handgefärbten Lacegarn gestrickt. Von beiden Garnen werden jeweils etwa 900-1100 m benötigt.

Da das Strickprojekt mit einem provisorischen Anschlag beginnt, empfiehlt es sich, zwei Rundstricknadeln der passenden Stärke oder alternativ eine Nadel sowie ein Nadelseil zu verwenden.

Das Lochmuster wird mit einer Strickschrift erläutert, die übrigen Muster als geschriebene Anleitung. Schemazeichnungen verdeutlichen die Strickweise und enthalten Angaben zu Maschenzahl, Reihen, Muster sowie Maße.
I-Cord-Ränder sowie verkürzte Reihen werden im Technikteil erklärt.

The poncho is very soft, cuddly warm, and with its weight of ca. 230 g it is a light garment.
It is worked flat and seamless. The combination of cables and lace pattern make it interesting to knit. Short rows give it some additional width around the hips. The edges are worked as I-cord.

It is worked with double yarn (a fine Alpaca with a hand-dyed lace yarn). Yardage is 985-1200 yards of each of the yarns.

Since the project begins with a provisional cast on, you may want to use two circular knitting needles of the same size to simplify knitting in both directions.

The lace pattern is explained with a chart (no additional written instructions). All other patterns are described with written instructions row by row. Schematics illustrate how to knit. They include stitch numbers, rows, patterns and measurements.
