When I saw this gorgeous deep green color (Jonna) and read about the new Corrie Worsted from La Bien Aimee, I immediately saw dramatic cables and texture in a modern paneled pullover.

The fabric is light and warm, so it’s a wonderful layering piece. The cables are eye-catching but not difficult, and they’re beautifully accented with a delicate texture background. I played just a little with the proportions on the pullover this time. The sweater is loose and easy, featuring an open neckline - and full sleeves with aggressive wrist shaping to get to a fitted cuff. However, these elements are still subtle and feel classic, allowing both the textures and the amazing yarn to really stand out.

Épernay is knit in the round from the bottom up and separated into front and back at armholes. Pieces are then worked flat to shoulder. Once shoulders are seamed, sleeve and neckline stitches are picked up and worked in the round to end.

Épernay is designed with a loose fit, short length, and an open neckline, as noted above. Sleeves are worked with extra ease in the arm, then shaped for a fitted cuff. The pattern includes notes on how to modify these elements of the design if desired. Cable instructions are both charted and written out.

YARDAGE
1200(1350,1400,1500,1600)(1650,1700,1800,1900)yds 1100(1235,1280,1370,1465)(1510,1555,1645,1735)m
If substituting, a light worsted weight wool in a solid, subtle semisolid, tweed or heather will give you a similar feel to the sample shown. As always, estimates above do include at least 10% of buffer, so if you’re just a little short, you should be fine!

GAUGE
20sts/28 rounds(and rows) per 4”/10cm in texture and reverse stockinette. Cable gauge is given in pattern. Three needle sizes are listed, but the US#7 (largest) is your gauge needle. The two smaller sizes are for collar and cuffs.

Pattern is available in both French and English.

Errata: In Side Cable Panel written instructions, Rounds 13,14,16-20,22 and 23 are as follows: p2, k6, p1, k6, p2. This was fixed on the PDF and replaced by an updated version, but some of you may have too been quick for me and already had download your pattern.

On page 11, Sleeve Round 3, the purls were not properly lined up so they were offset as on the body. This was fixed on 3/13 and the PDF is now correct. The 4-stitch repeat now reads (k2, p1, k1).
