This pattern uses the same diamond cable pattern as the Farrimond Cardigan from my Simple Knits book.

I designed this pattern with the history and tradition associated with cables in mind. The different stitches have different meanings according to sherman folklore. The diamond cable represents the shape of a shing mesh and therefore wishing a good successful catch. The traditional cable depicts the ropes of their shing ancestors and promises safety and good luck at sea.
I love all this because this represents what knitting
is to me, something that is made with love and full of meaning as well as offering the knitter a calming and relaxing journey of creating the most precious gift.
