There are two variants of the pattern, an octagonal and a square shape. It is practically worked from the edge towards the center. So first, the 8 flowers (for the octagonal) or 16 flowers (for the square shape) are made and closed to a ring. Then the “remaining” stitches form the inner sides of the flowers are work in the round, form the edge towards the center.

octagonal shape
First a ring of 8 flowers is made. Follow chart A and repeat the pattern 5 times. Then the center is worked from the edge towards the center. Follow chart B and repeat 8 times.

square shape
First a ring of 16 flowers is made. Follow chart A and repeat 5 times for the side-flowers, or repeat 6 times for the edge-flowers. Then the center is worked form the edge towards the center. Follow chart C and repeat 4 times.
