Yarn-saving, reversible scrunchy scarf with a vertical lace texture

This scarf was “designed” when I explored the feather fagot stitch. Since it’s simply a number of stitches in a number of rows it’s not much of a design, but it knits into the most beautiful textured, super-stretchy scarf that looks way more complicated than it really is.

The texture allows you to knit a very long or wide scarf with a minimum of yarn. And I promise, the texture of this will keep you warm even though it’s not a solid scarf.

Gauge is not important in this pattern.

Note: Once you get going, the pattern is very difficult to knit ‘backwards’ in. So it’s advisable to pay attention until you get the hang of it.

Pictured scarf took about 4.5 skeins of Rowan Cocoon
