My friend on American Girl Knitters wanted a bib for a baby born doll so here is what I came up with. I have knitted it in 100% wool 4ply but it would look much nicer in a 4ply cotton, but I had none in my stash.

I used the top of my Truly Versatile pattern, upside down and just went on from there. It has a shaped neckline so fits nicely around dolly’s neck and the ties are just a crocheted extension of the main part, so no need to stitch them on later.

I have embroidered a simple flower in the centre but this part of the pattern is charted so feel free to add whatever embelishment you want. I did try a textured, stitch pattern but as the yarn is thin it didn’t stand out very well.

Enjoy !
