This is a versatile all-seasons hoodie. Wear it in the summer over a sundress or shorts, or layer it over a long-sleeved shirt and jeans in the colder months. The hoodie is a simple top-down knit. The hood and pocket are picked up and knit after completing the body of the garment. Detailed photographic instructions are included for knitting and attaching the pocket. The only seaming is along 3 edges of the pocket and along the short edge along the bottom of the neck opening.

While the pattern is written for a cropped, short sleeved garment, it is easy to add length to the sleeves and the body due to the top-down construction.

The hoodie is named after Galiano Island in British Columbia, Canada. This is one of the most beautiful and peaceful gulf islands.
