The Gatsby Gal is such a versatile piece to knit and also an attention grabber! The band on the cloche is actually the cowl as well.
The scarf is knit in one piece. When you get to the fingers they are knit and placed on stitch holders until all 5 are done and placed back on the needle. After the scarf body is knit you knit the other set of fingers and weave them through the first set. Put all the live finger stitches back on the needle to finish the end.
This pattern has written directions only.

Just for fun, the model Patricia Nordeen suggested this as a gift for the knitter who has everything!
The cowl worn as a Tiara! See last photo!
