I have been fond of Moorish architecture for years. And the combination of geometric shapes and complex decorative elements, such as arches and vegetative patterns – all this art famous for, became an inspiration for this garment.
Giralda Sweater is close-fitted top-down pullover, featuring an eye-catching cable panels on front and back. These details reveal the color and texture of hand-dyed yarn and create the flattering look for any type of figure.

Sizes:
Women’s XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL): to fit bust 28/30 (32/34, 36/38, 40/42, 44/46, 48/50) inches 71/76 (81/86, 91/96, 102/107, 112/117, 122/127) cm.
Finished Measurements:
30 ½ (34, 38, 42, 46, 50) inches 76 (86, 96, 106, 117, 127) cm bust circumference. Shown in size M (38” 96 cm]) on 36” bust with 2” of positive ease.

Gauge:
19 sts and 26 rows = 4” in Reverse Stockinette stitch on size US8 (5 mm) needle, after blocking.
26 sts and 26 rows = 4” in Giralda cable pattern on size US8 (5 mm) needle, after blocking.
Row gauge is very important for this project!

Materials:
Worsted weight yarn (approximate amounts):
1050 (1180, 1240, 1370, 1450, 1620) yards 945 (1062, 1116, 1233, 1305, 1458) m.

Tools:
Sizes US6 (4 mm) and US8 (5 mm): 16”(40 cm) and 24-32”(60-80 cm) circular (circ). 2 sets of double-pointed needles (dpn) of same sizes. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge.
8 stitch markers and 1 removable marker; cable needle (cn); crochet hook size USG (4 mm); waste yarn; tapestry needle.

Difficulty: Intermediate.

Techniques: knitting back and forth, cables, knitting in the round, picking up sts, k2tog, ssk, m1p increase, short rows (w&t)
