Inspired by the striped awnings of Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, a wrapped rib band decorates the edges of this cardigan, while the A-line shape hangs gracefully around the body.

This open-front cardigan is knit from the bottom up then divided at the underarm and worked separately to the shoulders. The front band is knit at the same time as the body, then continued past the shoulders to meet at the back neck. Set-in sleeves are worked in the round from the top down and shaped with short rows. The rib pattern is both written and charted.
