This pattern will show you how to make a plushy GUP-A toy. I would not recommend this pattern for beginners, since it’s somewhat complex. But if you have a basic understanding of amigurumi, then it should be doable. Each piece is fairly simple, there are just a lot of them. You’ll also need to be familiar with techniques like surface crochet and French knots for the decorations.

The pattern is designed for I Love This Cotton! yarn in various colors. It’s made with a size E hook (and a size C for one small portion of the pattern). I crochet fairly tightly, so you should consider sizing down a hook if you’re a looser crocheter. Mine was about 10” long and about 18” in circumference at the widest point (excluding the antennae). Gauge isn’t crucial, but if your stitches are larger, you may need more yarn to complete your GUP and your GUP will be bigger.

You’ll also need fiberfill stuffing and a tapestry needle. If you want to make the propellor spin, you’ll need an additional safety eye. I recommend using a stitch marker to help you keep your place.
