Not merely ornamental, these cuffs were designed to be functional and fun to incorporate into consensual bondage play. Featuring a cable medallion based on the “Saxon Braid” pattern, plant-fibre yarn, and tight gauge, producing a sturdy, stretch-resistant fabric that makes them hard to slip off, while the adjustable laces can be used to tether the wrists together or to the object of your choice. The optional “D-rings” can also be used as attachment points to keep rope or metal handcuffs from either abrading the skin or slipping out of place (especially useful for people with nickel allergies, etc.) I would not, however, recommend relying on these cuffs alone to support weight or withstand a lot of determined struggling. If you don’t plan to use them as restraints you can of course use a stretchier yarn, like wool, or a more forgiving gauge (working the pattern as written can be hard on the hands).

This pattern also adapts easily for use as a choker/collar: just repeat the cable chart to desired length.
