This design is also available in English, under the name Robin’s Hood

This is a soft and cosy hood that suits both men and women of all ages. The cut was inspired by Swedish archeological findings dating back to around 1450. Tunisian crochet didn’t become popular until around 1850, so this pattern is slightly anachronistic…

Further reading about the origin of the pattern can be found on Wikipedia under the article ”Bocksten Man”.

It is adviceable to crochet something smaller in the round before you make this hood. You might take a look at my instructions for “Tunisian crochet in the tround” and make some cuffs or a hat.

You may also search for an other yarn than the Icelandic Plotulopi, since that yarn may also cause problems if you are not already friends.

NOTE: There is a CAL regarding this pattern in the group Inspired by Iceland
