BASIC SOCKS KNITTING PATTERN TUTORIAL

The basic sock, or vanilla socks as most like to call them, look so much more complicated than they really are. Plain socks (or vanilla socks) are perfect for showcasing a self-striped yarn, variegated yarn, darker yarns that don’t often show a lot of pattern detail. All only needing a single (350-400yd) skein. It’s a mindless project that offers hours of relaxation..

I’m sharing my way of doing a Vanilla Sock. They call it vanilla, because in most cases, there isn’t a pattern. Just straight knitting. I include cuff and leg stitch patterns if you choose to get fancy.

This is definitely for a BEGINNER sock knitter, though if you’re curious how I knit vanilla socks, it’s for you too.

I do NOT teach you how to knit socks, it’s my recipe for vanilla socks.
