Cables and twisted stitches start at the cuff and work their way down through the foot to produce a pattern reminiscent of iron scrollwork.

Designed for an intermediate knitter with a basic understanding of sock construction, this sock is worked top-down. The gusset increases are not your usual ones, and the heel flap, short-row heel and gusset decreases are then worked in a manner more often seen in toe-up socks, but which works wonderfully well with this design.

This design is better suited to solid and semi-solid yarns because of the movement of the twisted stitches.
