An elegant little aran winter hat.

The cabled brim band is worked first. The body of the hat is knitted bottom up from stitches picked up along side of band.

The stranded colourwork provides an excellent showcase for that ball of irresistably gorgeous ball of hand painted wool which you just had to buy!

Although I used Marriner Aran and Malabrigo Mecha, actually any aran weight wool will suffice and as for the colour - just be really artistic!
