Crochet Pattern: Jain Beanie

Level: Beginner (with some experience) to intermediate

This unisex beanie crochet pattern makes a quick and fashionable gift. Two beanie sizes are given in this pattern; teen/adult (size medium) and baby (6-12 months). The beanie is made from the top down in one continuous flow - you will start at the crown and end at the ribbed brim with only one small gap to close at the brim. The PDF pattern includes step by step photo instructions to guide you.

Size: Teen/Adult and baby (6-12 months)
Yarn: Medium weight #4 (suggestion Caron Simply Soft or similar weight)
Yardage: Approx. 125yd (114m) for adult and 90yd (82m) for baby
Hook size: USA H-8 (metric 5mm) for the body & USA G-6 (metric 4mm) for the ribbing

For this pattern you will need to know: Magic circle, chain stitch, half double crochet, double crochet, front post double crochet and slip stitch.

Finished size Teen/Adult:
Height 8.25in (21cm) measured from top of crown to edge of beanie through center
Circumference: 19in (48cm) measured around opening edge. Stretches to fit 22in (56cm) circ.

Finished size baby (6-12 months):
Height 6.5in (16.5cm) measured from top of crown to edge of beanie through center
Circumference: 16in (41cm) measured around opening edge. Stretches to fit 18in (46cm) circ.
