Yarn specifications:
One-thread 100g dark brown (myrkamorreytt tógv) and
One-thread 110g white for lining (this is just plain) and
Two-thread 40gram (in same colour dark brown) as outside for fringe/tassels.

Technique:
Garter stitch with a band of feather stitch.

Hints:
Crochet-hook is good to fasten tassels/fringe. You can also fasten lining with shawl either with crochet or with sewing togehter.

I have consulted a faroese knitter, who recommended Snaeldan (faroese yarn) (which matches the colour schemes in the book - but probably anything goes). For yardage - check that yarn out! It is enough!) If you are tight of yarn skip a few of the bottom rows. Faroese lady also suggested to cast on “double” (you can also use the two-thread for cast on) to get a steady start.

4 markers are handy for marking mid-section and each side.

Seldom smaller needles than 3.5 to 4mm are used in these shawls, where 4.5 -5mm are most common.
