What a beautiful little moon of Jupiter!

Io was discovered in 1610 by Galileo and it’s the most geologically active body in the whole solar system. Its surface is covered in volcanoes, whose volcanic plumes and lava flows have resulted in its colourful appearance, including yellow sulphur and sulphur dioxide frost.
