This is a pattern for a little knitted pouch which will fit an i-phone or can just be used to hold seed packets as a gift for a gardening friend.

In order to make this pouch you will need to be able to work both knit and purl stitches and work in a stranded knitting / fair-isle technique.

This pattern is written for knitting flat on two needles and is seamed at the end, but it can be adapted for knitting in the round by casting on 34 stitches instead on 36, knitting only 1 stitch before increasing (instead of 2) at each end of rows 2 & 4 and omitting the first and last stitch from every row of the pattern chart.

Materials needed:
1 pair of 2.75mm needles
1 pair of 3mm needles**
Yarn A (a green DK yarn, approx 15m/16yds)
Yarn B (a blue DK yarn approx 29m/32yds)
a tapestry needle for sewing up
a button of around ½ inch or 2cms

Finished size: 3 1/8 x 5 inches, 8 x 12.8cms

If you didn’t want to knit the design from the chart the pouch would look nice in stripes or even a plain colour with an initial - my free letter charts would work for this:
