The Kyra hat was knit using one skein of North Star Alpaca’s beautiful dk weight yarn, with 2 strands held together on size 9 needles. The intriguing cable with openwork and ribbing is worked sideways, then the crown is shaped after picking up stitches. Finishing touches include a row of natural coconut buttons that set off the richness of the wool. This is a fast and fun design for advanced beginners on up, and is trendy enough for both teens and misses to wear. Work one up over the weekend, and you have a great gift for the upcoming holidays. :)
