This hat was inspired by the shape of a yurt, the traditional dwelling for the nomads that live on the steppes in Central Asia. Because the pattern is worked from the top down, it is possible to adjust the fit of the hat as you go to suit the intended wearer.

Knittings skills used in this pattern: circular knitting, knit, purl, knit one into the front and back of the stitch, knit two together,

Finished piece measures 20 inches around just above the ribbing and 7 inches deep. Use this size as a guideline, but feel free to adjust the pattern as you see fit.
