L is for Love Nest

These little love birds snuggled in their nest would make a lovely holiday ornament!
The pattern also includes a spring-time version!
This ornament is very child friendly too, no pointy or breakable bits and the birds can come out of their little nest for some play time!

Pattern is written in English and includes 5 pages of full instructions; list of supplies and techniques required and abbreviations.

Yarn:
Nest: Less than 50gm of #4 medium
Suggested: a less elastic yarn such as a fairly stiff cotton or a textured yarn works best in order for the nest to hold its shape.
Birds: Small amount of #2 fine (1 or 2 colours)
Flowers: Small amount of #2 fine (1 or more colours)
Leaves: Small amount of #2 fine (1 or more colours)
Heart: Small amount of #2 fine
Beaks & Feet: Small amount of #2 fine
Face: Scraps for embroidery

Needles: 2 - 3.25mm straight needles, 2 - 3.00mm straight needles, 2 - 3.25mm dpns

Other Supplies: Ribbon, pompoms & beads

Skills Required: Knit, Purl, Cast on, Cast off, Increase, decrease, icord

Abbreviations:
K - Knit
P -Purl
Sl1 - Slip 1 st
St - Stitch
St st - Stocking Stitch
K2tog - Knit 2 together
P2tog - Purl 2 together
Skp - Slip 1 st, knit 1 st, pass slipped st over knit st
Inc - Increase
M1 - Make 1 st by picking up the loop between the stitches & knitting into the back of it
Ywfd - Yarn forward
Kw - Knitways
Pw - Purlways
