A basic amigurumi bird pattern, with instructions to make five different birds: a dove, robin, owl, bluebird, and duck. The downloadable pdf includes 10 pages and 16 colour photos, with a printable template page.

The pattern is written for medium weight yarn and a 3.5mm (E) crochet hook, which produces an amigurumi that is about 5cm / 2” tall. However, exact gauge is not important, and you could use thicker or thinner yarn to make different sized amigurumi birds.

Each bird uses less than 20 m / 22 yards of yarn. You will also need stuffing, a small amount of white felt, embroidery thread, and 6mm safety eyes, or beads for eyes.
