Little Boxes Shawl is inspired by charming row homes sitting shoulder to shoulder as far as the eye can see, in a city laid out on a grid. The inverted and bouncing boxes reflect the variations in ornamentation, color of brick, and renovations over the centuries.

The shawl is worked in single color garter stitch from the point, then in an engaging two-color mosaic stockinette pattern, and is finished off with a short row garter stitch edge. As the triangle grows, the mosaic pattern gains new motifs one stitch at a time. The mosaic stitch patterns are written and charted.

Note: The anomalous colored boxes are not written into the pattern but can easily be created.
