Description
The cardigan sure will be a wardrobes favorite. It’s a classic gender-neutral style that works well in a lot of different yarns: Wool, wool-blends, as well as cotton or linenyarns. It’s easy to layer and works for indoor and outdoor as well. The pockets are a must-have for little treasure-hunting kids.
The cardigan is worked seamlessly top down in stitch pattern. Start at the top in stitch pattern and work raglan / yoke increases as well as increases for the front neckline shape at the same time. Separate Body and sleeves by placing sleeve stitches on separate holder; continue the body including setup for pockets, and finish body with 2x2 rib. Now sleeves are worked in rounds, finished with 2x2 rib cuffs. You pick up stiches for the bands and work them in 2x2 rib. The pocket bags are worked with an afterthought pocket technique (photos are shown).
(Pattern contains the instruction for 1x1 rib for the pocket entry, the dark blue and light pink cardigan are knitted with 2x2 rib instead.)
