The Louisiana Sweater Junior is worked from the top down with raglan increases on the yoke. The ribbing at the neck edge is folded and knitted together to form the neckline. The sleeves have tight fitting ribbed cuffs. I recommend using the Italian bind-off method on cuffs and hem for a neat, elastic edge.

If the recipient measures 58 cm [22¾ inches] around the chest, you should knit a size 4-6 years. Size 4-6 years has a chest circumference of 76 cm [30 inches] which will, in this example, give 18 cm [7 inches] of positive ease. If the measured chest circumference deviates from the age guide, you can adjust the lengths to the person you’re knitting for. The same applies if the child is short/taller than average.
