The Magical Monogram Sweater is a crocheted sweater that uses special crochet techniques to mimic the look of a knit sweater. It’s a yoke-style pattern that is worked from the top down, with no seaming whatsoever! Charts for all 26 letters of the alphabet (plus a blank one to make your own!) are included in the “Extras” pdf document, along with photo tutorials for the center single crochet stitch and the csc join. With nine available sizes and a unisex design, you’ll be able to make a sweater to fit almost anyone from preteen to adult

Sizing: The sizes available are XS, S, M, L, XL, 2X, 3X, 4X, and 5X, which correspond to bust sizes (in inches) 30, 34, 38, 42, 46, 50, 54, 58, and 62 (centimeters: 76.2, 86.4, 96.5, 106.7, 116.8, 127, 137.2, 147.3, and 157.5). The sweater is meant to be worn with some positive ease, but how much depends on the preference of the wearer. Please note that the finished sweater will not stretch very much, so I recommend at least 4” of positive ease.

Gauge: 11.5 sts and 16 rows = 4 inches in csc (check and change hook size if needed)

Materials:

  • 60 yards of worsted weight (CYC-4) yarn for the contrast color (example is shown in Red Heart With Love, colorway: Cornsilk)
