Slouch Pattern Details

Sizes: Newborn(6mo, 1y, 2y, 3-5y, 6-10y, Adult S, Adult M, Adult L) OR 13.5(17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24)”/ 34(43, 46, 48, 51, 53, 56, 58, 61) cm circumference.

Gauge: 20 stitches and 32 rows per 4” (10 cm) in 1x1 ribbing (k1, p1) with fingering weight held double OR 1 strand worsted weight (st gauge is taken when lightly stretched, row gauge is taken when relaxed).

Needles: (2) 16” circular needle in size needed to achieve gauge listed above (suggested size: US 7/4.5 mm).

Materials Used: Hedgehog Fibres Skinny Singles held double (Fingering; 100% merino wool; 400 yds/100 g, or any other yarn that knits up to desired gauge).

Yardage: 140(224, 284, 320, 360, 388, 432, 460) yds fingering weight for marling 2 strands together OR 70(112, 130, 142, 160, 180, 194, 216, 230)

Designer’s note: These calculations were made with standard head measurements in mind, plus extra length for a slouchy fit. Depending on the length of your hat, you may require less yardage than what is listed above. Plan accordingly.

Other Notions: Stitch markers, crochet hook/tapestry needle, scrap yarn/stitch holder and scissors.
