Mandrake roots have many magical uses, but harvesting them is no easy task: the cry of a Mandrake kills anyone who hears it! But never fear: these mandrakes are still pretty young, and I assure you, they won’t be too much trouble.

For this pattern, you will need:

• G crochet hook (F for mini)
• Worsted weight yarn in light brown, green (if crocheting leaves), and a small bit of dark brown for eyes and mouth (brand does not matter)
• Needle with large eye
• Fiber-fil or stuffing
• Artificial leaves (your choice, details and instruction included in pattern)
• Small Terra-cotta flowerpot (4” or 2.75”, optional)

This pattern is at an easy-intermediate level. Previous amigurumi experience is recommended. You need to know how to single crochet, double crochet, half-double crochet. Guidance for Popcorn (bubble) stitch is included.

Pattern will show you how to make a full-sized mandrake and a mini-sized mandrake. includes 9 pages of detailed instruction in English and color photos of the work-in-progress and finished product to help guide you along. Finished product will measure about 10.5” tall (regular), or 5.5” tall (mini) not including leaves. Will vary with yarn.
