A hat is always a perfect possibility to try a new pattern idea. Although I have had two projects on my needles already, this pattern just felt irresistible, which is why I would like to share it with you! The colors remind me of my favorite flower (which can be found in my garden in May): Columbine.

I used a wonderful yarn with 15% silk, which makes such a difference in fabric! This pattern actually came up by coincidence, but I am more than happy how it worked out! When I get to the crown I never really have plan, it’s always a big surprise!

The hat has a brim, is very stretchy, slightly slouchy and well-fitting at the same time. The pattern has only four repeating pattern rows and is based on basic brioche stitches, increases and decreases. It’s important to note that there is no 4-stitch-decrease to be knit. You can do it, knitters!

The hat can be knit in multiple sizes only by changing needle size and gauge; Block the finished cap over a steep-sided bowl or other head-shaped form to smooth the crown.
