I think Derecho, by Laura Aylor, is a wonderful design. I have stared and stared at it, trying to figure out its road map. Here is my crocheted tribute to Laura’s lovely knitted design-- Meg’s Wrap.

Meg’s Wrap is made entirely of US single crochet. It is 68 inches in length (172.7cm) and 29 and 1/4 inches (74.2cm) at the widest point after blocking.

Like Derecho, Meg’s Wrap is made with three colors of yarn--a light color, a medium color, and a dark color. My hanks of Isager Spinni contain 330 yds per hank. So, I had to purchase 2 of each color to complete the wrap. Based on the yarn I had remaining, here are my estimates of yarn needed:
Dark-400-430 yds, Light-400-430 yds, and Medium 530-570 yds (Medium is the gold color in my wrap).

The top edge, the longest edge of the triangle, will need a little straightening when you block it. As you can probably see from the photo, the small, gray triangle at the top has a slight curve to it. So, when you’re ready to block it, just pin the top edge along a straight edge, and it should be fine.

Meg’s Wrap is named for my friend, Meg, who always gives me great advice on yarns and yarn colors.

Finally, thank you to Rita, who nudged me to give it a try!
