These are crocheted versions of the Mercury Atlas and Redstone Rockets that sent the original Mercury astronauts into space in the 1960s! These soft miniatures would be great for kids big and small who love rockets!

What you will need:
Redstone: 4 ply worsted weight yarn in White, Black and Red
Altas: 4 ply worsted weight yarn in Silver, Black and a small amount in White and Red
Fiberfill stuffing

The final height of the Atlas is 43 cm/ 17 inches and the height of the Redstone is 37.5 cm/ 14.8 inches. They are both roughly to scale with their real counterparts and each other!

This pattern is easy to follow, includes loads of pictures and even has an explanation of ScDec and colour switching.
