Mi-Iro is the Japanese word for “three colors” - this is what this scarf is about.
It is shaped as a parallelogram and constructed colour by colour. in separate sections. The stitch direction varies from section to section.
Final finishing is made by a small I-Cord.

I used Ito Washi along with Ito Shio. Both yarns offer a variety of colours, and you can achieve stunning effects depending on your combinations.

For the original version I used Ito Washi Aqua / Ito Shio navy, Ito Washi white / Ito Shio white and Ito Washi Chili / Ito Shio red.

When using the original yarns, you will need

  • 2 cones / 375 m Ito Washi aqua + 1 cone / 375 m Ito Shio navy
  • 2 cones / 375 m Ito Washi white + 1 cone / 375 m Ito Shio white
  • 1 cone / 125 m Ito Washi chili + 1 cone / 125 m Ito Shio red

The pattern is written in a way that you can vary both the length and the width of each section of the scarf and customise it to your choice.
If you wish to use alternative yarns, I suggest to select lace yarns.
