Can you believe that the Monsters Inc. movie was released in 2001?!?! Time flies…

It feels like just yesterday that Mike and Sulley were small enough to hold in my arms (hmmm, now that I think about it, I might STILL be able to carry Mike in my arms :P). Anyway, I remember when these little munchkins were the top of their scare class at Monsters Preschool! Don’t be fooled by their sweet and cuddly photos… they were the KINGS of the Mini Scare Simulator! One day during class, Mike and Sulley BROKE the simulator -- the robotic boy just kept screaming and screaming. Alarms sounded. Gears screeched! Teams of mechanics were called in. Nothing could stop the boy’s screaming! The scare level was off the charts!!!

Mike and Sulley were awarded with ribbons that year for their outstanding accomplishment. From then on, they teamed up for EVERY scare and soon landed themselves at the top of the charts at Monsters Inc.!

As we all know, in 2001 the monsters at Monsters Inc. discovered that children’s laughter generates MUCH more energy than screams ever did. Mike and Sulley are no longer proud of their scare record. In fact, this inseparable duo have been working overtime on their comedy skills. They’re now determined to be the funniest monsters in the world! :)

Despite Monsters Inc.’s new direction, Mike and Sulley still hold onto their preschool ribbons as a reminder that the world around them changes ever so quickly. There’s no way to tell what the future holds, but they can be darn certain that they’ll be there for each other no matter what happens. A lifelong friendship like theirs is a treasure indeed.
