MORE HONEY

The original Honey hat was one of the very first patterns I released on Ravelry back in 2014. A lot has happened since, but this design has stayed very close to my heart. The More Honey Hat is very much like its predecessor, but I wanted to give it an update it deserves by finessing the flow of cables and adding sizes and options for customizing the fit. This version of the pattern includes options for a shorter watchcap style hat, a beanie with longer brim that can be folded double, and a slouchier long version.

The More Honey Hat is knitted in a round from the bottom upwards starting with the brim and continuing through the main body of the hat to the crown shaping. The slightly irregular ribbing keeps the brim interesting looking and flows beautifully into the cables. The all-over cable pattern has a 4-round repeat and is easily memorized. The hat is named after its most prominent feature, the Honeycomb cable pattern.

You can see me talking about this pattern on Youtube and explaining all the techniques you need to knit your own hat:
