Mrs Tiggy was the first pattern in my Miss Potter Sock Club 2, and is now available as an individual download as well !

This design is of course inspired by the much loved hedgehog, Mrs Tiggy-winkle.

Mrs Tiggy-winkle lived in a cosy home on the side of a hill. She spent her days washing and ironing the clothes and linens of all her animal friends.

Her kitchen always had the lovely scent of fresh laundry, and there was often a huge pile of hankies on the chair by the fire.

When designing these socks, I wanted to capture the feeling of those lace-edged handkerchiefs. The stitch pattern is relaxing to knit and works beautifully with a lightly speckled yarn.

I knit the sample using Lay Family Yarns in the ‘Lace Hankies’ sock set.

The socks are worked top down with a contrast heel flap, and my lovely rounded Umbrella Toe.
